Newsletter 1/2014 Black Belt Seminar in Krakow, Poland
On the weekend 18th -19th January 2014 Krakow was venue of the nationwide seminar for the black belt holders. This year the host of this special event was Mr. Pawel Porebski – 6th degree, the president and the head coach of Krakowska Academy of Taekwon-Do.
The main idea of the black belt seminar was the meeting of instructors and black belt holders and common practice of Taekwon-do - especially elements which are rarely practiced at schools – improving of the technical components from the high degree patterns and training of those patterns themselves. It is also a great occasion to meet long-lost Taekwon-Do people. There are many instructors not interested in the sport competition and such circumstances integrate the community. For young instructors and some black belt holders it is also an opportunity to meet people from the Taekwon-do schools from different cities in Poland.
In the seminar conducted by Master Jerzy Jedut – 7th Degree, the PTA Vice-president for technical matters took part 63 participants among them: Master Janusz Gutkowski and Master Tadeusz Loboda – both 7th degree, three holders of 6th degree, five people with 5th degree and nine 4th degree holders. It becomes already tradition that after the first day the participants take part in the dinner together, were they discus the current matters but also those from the distant past. In June 2014 Taekwon-do will celebrate 40 years of its creation in Poland. Therefore many discussions focused on that subject.
The Royal Capital City of Krakow is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. This is why many participants came already on Friday in order to sightsee the most historic parts of the old capitol of Poland.
