Polish Junior Championship

The 16th Polish Junior Championship (17-18 years old) was held on May13th, 2007 in Ciechanow. The championship was under the honour patronage of Mr. Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship and Mr. Waldemar Wardziński, President of Ciechanów City. The event was observed by many politicians and the authorities.

127 competitors’ from 39 clubs took part in this event. The level of the tournaments was really high. On contrary to all other competitions, during this award ceremony the coaches also received a gold medal along with their winning competitor and accompanied them on the podium.

The title of the best female competitor went to Monika Gzowska from the club LKS Lotos Jablonna with 2 gold and 1 bronze medal. The best male competitor was Kamil Raczyński from WSKT Wroclaw who won two gold medals. The best club was LKS Lotos Jablonna (4 gold and 2 bronze medals).

   
   

The main organiser of Championship, Mr. Michal Korzybski, IV Dan, the coach of the club LKS Matsogi Ciechanów as well as the coach of the Polish National Male Team, deserved special congratulation and thanks for this great event.

The organizers had prepared a show during the opening ceremony. A choir was singing the national anthem and a dancing group performed various choreographies. The championship finished with the finals of all sparring divisions and an award ceremony of the best competitors and clubs.

The tournament gave an answer as to which junior competitors are in best shape before the 9th Junior World Championship that will held at the beginning of June in Quebec City, Canada. After the championship the National Team Coaches decided to take 8 female and 9 male competitors to represent Poland on Junior World Championship in Canada.
