Held on 22-24th September 2006 in Rzeszow University (South-East Poland) was the 1st World Scientific Congress of Combat Sports and Material Arts under the Honorary Patronage of General Franciszek Gagor, Ph.D., Chief of the General Staff of Polish Armed Forces.
The representatives who took part in this event came from Japan, Germany, Austria, Estonia and Poland. Congress topics were:
Taekwon-do ITF was represented by:
Mr. Wasik conversation involved "The description of performing the timyo nopi ap chagi test. Taekwon-do ITF, special techniques" and "The physical parameters that describe Taekwon-do's the rising kick". His report was very interesting for the participants also because the subject - special techniques - was different from other reports which only concerning the fight in different martial arts.
Mr. Bujak presented his report about "Changes in refereeing regulations versus dynamics of sparring in Taekwon-do" (download MS Word file, 432 kB)..
M. Zalech dealt with the issue regarding "The level of bravery versus the result of sparring in Taekwon-do (methodological aspect)".
The subject of Mr. Walczak report involved "Educational aspects of sports and martial arts with emphasis on Taekwon-do" (download MS Word file, 74 kB).

The spectators had opportunity to hear many interesting reports but the main purpose of the Congress was to present martial arts to the people living in this area of Poland. The townsfolk of Rzeszow could admire the demonstration of different martial artist which achieved a really big success.
