On the 13th-14th March 2005 invited by Mrs. Martina Semesiova Soltisova, President of the Slovak Union of Taekwon-Do ITF with an official visit come to Slovakia Mr. Tadeusz Łoboda - the AETF President and Mr. Jerzy Jedut, the AETF Secretary General.
On the first day guests attended the meeting with the participants of the 3rd Presov Open and had a dinner with Mrs. Dana Palascakova, the Secretary General of the SUTKD and her husband. During the dinner there were discussed detailed schedule of Slovak activity for next year and details of visit.
On the next day (Sunday) guests attended the Presov Open (report from this event and photo gallery available on our website) The Slovak Union of Taekwon-do ITF wanted to present their organizing potential due to the fact that they are applying for the organization of the XIII Junior and XXIII Senior European Championships Taekwon-do in 2007.
During the tournament there took place two interesting meetings. On the championships there was present Mr. Ing Milan Benc, the Mayor of Presov city. The conversation concerned politics of the city authority towards our martial art and the regulations of the cooperation with the best Taekwon-do club in Presov -"Gaebek". Mr. Benc was impressed of the organizing level of the tournament, quantity of the competitors and international participants. He declared that the city will support more by the next running of the Championships and buy additional squares for the club.
As observers of the Championships there were present Prof. Ing. Peter Kuzmisin, PhD, Prorector for development and informatics of the Universites Presoviensis and Ph D. Juraj Mihalcin, manager of TJ Slavia PU from Universites Presoviensis (the Department of Sport). Both gentlemen had a meeting with the AETF authorities. The main subject of this meeting was cooperation regarding the Trainers course for the Slovak Taekwon-do Union. The main aim of this course would be to give the possibility to gain the coach license with right to be proffessional trainer in Taekwon-Do ITF (analogical like it is in another sport disciplines in this country).
This meeting was really profitable. The term of this course was settled on the July, August 2005. Currently the AETF and the SUTKD will cooperate in order to prepare the course programm. It was also indicated that it's also possible to cooperate concerning the AETF Scientific Research Commission. In the near future we expect the exchange of documents and potential meetings concerning this matters in order to sign the final agreement.
On Monday, 14th March Mr. Tadeusz Loboda with Mrs. Martina Soltisova Semasiowa and Mrs. Dana Palascakova traveled to Piestany. The city pretends to be a host of the Euros 2007. Piestany it is the 40.000 people city settled down 80 km from the capital city of this country, Bratislava. It is one of the most famous European spa.
After arrival, on the first meeting with Mrs. Viera Rumanowska, the Head Sales Department Slovak Health Spa Piescany. INC. there was presented the possibility of the spa concerning the accommodation, thermal water baths and other attractions including the possibility to arrange the Congresses and meetings. Real advantage of this location is the fact that there are 4 hotels of the high quality level with differentiated prizes in one buildings complex; what is interesting and worth to notice all those hotels are connected with a hallways.
This place is also equipped with all necessary room needed to arrange the reception, secretary room for Euros, weight of competitors and places to arrange the meeting of coaches, umpires and drawing.

On this day there had place once more meeting in the sport hall localized in the distance of 3 km from the Hotels. It is not a typical sport hall for games, but the ice-rink, where trains the local ice hockey team. In the summer it is adapted to other purposes.
During the meeting with Mr. Jarosław Luśniak, the Director of the Ice rink, the guests were informed about all equipment possibilities of the hall. The size of the main square is 60mx 30m. On the stands there is place for 3.000 spectators.
Mr. Leśniak described also with all details the transport, cooperation with city authorities, the popular sport disciplines in the city and other entertainments events.
Currently in the hall there is general refit, which will be finished on the beginning of the next year. The hall will be more attractive and functional, although it is now in good shape, what you can see on the pictures.
At the end of this visit all guest made a short tour on the hall.
