New Recognise NA in Europe

With the New Year, the European Taekwon-Do Federation received great news from Ukraine and Scotland.

The above-mentioned AETF Member Countries received a recognition from their Governments.

Below you can find information which we have received from them:

Today a significant event for all Taekwondists of Ukraine has taken place. Our sport is now officially recognized by the state!

The path was long - for as many as 15 years! However, in life, as in sports, the victory does not always come out the first time. We, together, continued to work hard. And today in our community there are new opportunities for the development of sport, the promotion of a healthy life experience, humanism and democratic values.

This is our joint victory, which was joined by every member of our community - both the participation of the All Ukrainian Taekwon-Do Union and our partners!

AUTU president,
Valentyn Zorba

Taekwon-Do as a whole in Scotland has been granted government recognition with Sports Scotland, via the Scottish Council of Taekwon-Do (SCoT). SCoT is a collective group of representatives from both ITF & WTF groups/styles within Scotland, working together to further development of Taekwon-Do in Scotland; from promoting participation, developing instructors and officials, supporting competitions and tournaments and finally backing performance athletes.

ITF Scotland the NA for ITF in Scotland, are a full members of SCoT, with Mr David Condie (Vice President of ITFS), having served on the board since it’s inception in 2015. He was re-elected for the next two year term at the SCoT AGM on Sunday 14th January 2017.i

We look forward to working alongside SCoT to develop Taekwon-Do in Scotland.

Regards
Gillian McIlvaney
Secretary General ITF Scotland
