On behalf of the All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation Board Directors and myself, I would like to thank all AETF Member Countries for a fruitful and succesfull cooperation in 2017.
It was the year of further development of the AETF. Into the history books went XXXII Senior and XXIII Junior European Taekwon-Do Championships, which was held on 20th-23rd April 2017 in Sofia, Bulgaria where almost 1000 participants from 29 countries participated. It was a great sports and organizational success for our organization, just like VIII European Taekwon-Do Cup for Seniors and Juniors and International Taekwon-Do Cup for Children and Cadets, which was held on 09th-11th June 2017 in Lublin, Poland where 1350 participants from 22 countries took part.
Europe was also the place for the organization of amazing events that took place under the auspices of the International Taekwon-Do Federation such as XX Senior and XIV Junior World Taekwon-Do Championships, which was held on 09th -16th October 2017 in Dublin, Ireland. in this Championships over 2100 participants from 49 countries from 6 continents took part. The World championships were an example of professionalism showing that the organizational level is developing dynamically in the right direction and setting new standards for our members.
Also the year 2017 gave many possibilities to learn in Europe. During this year three International Instructor Courses were organized, the first was held on 28th-30th April 2017 in Veroia Greece, then on 07th-09th July 2017 in Manchester, England and on 15th-17th September 2017 in Terracina Italy. There was also one International Kids Course held on 13th-14th May 2017 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.
2017 will be fondly remembered as a very successful year, full of positive development for Taekwon-Do in Europe.
2018 seems to be equally promising. At the beginning of April, after 6 years Maribor, Slovenia will again become the capital of the European Taekwon-Do Championships. The organization is guaranteed by Master Tomaz Barada known from organizing succesful international projects, seminars and championships. We can already tell that XXXIII Senior and XXIV Junior European Taekwon-Do Championships to be held on 12th-15th April in Maribor, Slovenia will be very interesting. We count on the participation of an even larger number of countries than last year and a larger number of competitors, coaches, officials and supporters. You can follow all information about the championships on a dedicated website under the link: http://euro2018.pztkd.lublin.pl/ regularly.
The following European event will be the IX European Taekwon-Do Cup for Seniors and Juniors and International Taekwon-Do Cup for Children and Cadets in Sibiu, Romania to be held on 19th-21st October 2018.
Also on the continent of Oceania again, 7 years after the 2011 World Championships in Wellington, New Zealand, the International Taekwon-Do Federation is organizing the 7th ITF Taekwon-Do World Cup to be held on 27th September – 1st October 2018 in Sydney, Australia, where we hoping to see many European Champions.
In 2018 Taekwon-Do practitioners in Europe will have the opportunity to improve their skills on 3 International Instructor Courses to be held on 12th-13th May 2018 in Dublin, Ireland, 17th -19th August 2018 in Skövde, Sweden and 9th – 11th November 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria. There will also be an International Harmony Course taking place on 03rd – 04th February 2018 in Benalmadena, Malaga.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best in your professional and personal lives, to achieve your goals and objectives and improve the development of Taekwon-Do in your countries during 2018.
Yours sincerely,
Master Tadeusz Loboda
AETF President
