Comprehensive training camp to celebrate 30 years of Taekwon-Do in Finland
ITF Finland, operating in the Nordic countries, celebrated its 30th anniversary in style at a training camp in Oulu in October 2017. Members of almost every club in Finland attended, ranging from Southern Finland to Lapland.
Almost all aspects of Taekwon-Do were covered, from fundamental techniques and sparring to power breaking and patterns. Conducting the training camp were Masters Thierry Meyour and Mikko Allinniemi, instructors Jori Aaltonen (VI Dan), Janne Ahonen (V Dan), Jouni Aartola (IV Dan) and assistant instructor Antti Rintanen (II Dan). They came from different cities of Finland: Espoo, Tampere and Rovaniemi.
The atmosphere at the camp was relaxed and the focus was to make people smile while training. The weekend offered a wide variety of the different aspects of Taekwon-Do and was ITF Finland’s national autumn training camp.
ITF Finland’s autumn meeting was also held, where members of the new board were elected, and two new clubs were accepted. Mrs. Tanja Kangasniemi was elected as ITF Finland’s new president.
Southern Finland’s Swedish speaking clubs Rasbudo ITF Taekwon-Do and Rasbudo Hanko, overseen by Mr. Rafael Kesti (III Dan), were accepted as part of ITF Finland, which means that 120 new members will be joining the federation.
