22nd Central Taekwon-Do Summer Camp Report

Between 7th and 16th of July 2017 in Biala Podlaska, Poland held place 22nd edition of Central Taekwon-Do Summer Camp, which from years has been enjoyed by athletes that want to improve their Taekwon-Do skills and spend time with friends and enthustiasts of this martial art.

This year edition attempted 150 people representing 9 countires such as: Belarous, Belgium, Cyprus, England, Georgia, Irleand, Latvia, Russia and Romania, and 16 clubs from Poland including: Lubelski Sportowy Klub Taekwon-Do, MKS Lewart AGS Lubartów, Radzyńskie Sportowe Centrum Taekwon-Do, Częstochowska Akademia Taekwon-Do, LZS Bełchatowska Akademia Taekwon-Do, Międzyszkolny Klub Sportowy "Żak" Biała Podlaska, Stowarzyszenie SPARTA w Brzezinach Nowych, Klub Sportów Walki "Neptun" Gdańsk, Klub Koreańskiej Sztuki Walki Taekwon-Do w Lubinie, Centrum Taekwon-Do Łódź, Klub Taekwon-Do Tradycyjnego w Łodzi, Poznański Sportowy Klubu Taekwon-Do, Rzeszowski Klub Taekwon-Do, Ognisko TKKF Taekwon – Mokotów Warszawa, Taewo Klub Wschodnich Sportów Walki or Wrocławski Sportowy Klub Taekwon-Do.

Central Taekwon-Do Camp has traditionally started with the accommodation of the participants and a common organizational meeting at which Master Loboda introduced the staff and rules of the camp. After the meeting participants were divided into training groups according to their grade and age.

Following days for participants were going by a strictly planned schedule. At 7 am participants could take part in Yoga classes conduced by Mr. Andrzej Kozłowski They welcome the sun and a new day by standing on their heads or practicing other unusual possitions (Yoga asanas).

After morning wake up with appetites participants were going to the breakfast, after which they could go to the swimming pool or to their morning classes. After first round there was time for lunch and later with new energy participants were going to their second afternoon classes and swimming pool. Trainings were conducted by Master Jerzy Jedut, Master Jarosław Suska and Mr. Robert Jasinski. For Master Degrees there were also avaiable Master Class conducted by Master Łoboda who passed on the knowledge of the highest patterns.

Aditional attraction on this year Camp were guest lectures with Mr. Wojciech Klimkiewicz, who presented the interesting elements of self-defense to advanced group. After classes and dinner participants have got free time for fun, indywidual conslultation with Masters or rest, until the curfew, which abidance was checked by educators Joanna Lipa and Izabela Łoboda.

This year edition of Central Summer Camp guardians organized Cleanliness contest on which rewards were prepared personally by Mrs. Anita Pasek Suska. We managed to distinguish 4 rooms deserving of A for taking care of order despite the busy schedule of the day.

Participants also enjoyed two discothèques, which clearly showed that not only in the training room but also in the dance hall our competitors are very good. All of the dancers, however, complained that the disco could last all night until the morning and that it ended too soon.

Additionally there were possibility to take part in trip to Warsaw, during which participants visit Copernicus Science Center, had a chance to see the change of the guard at the grave of an unknown soldier and to spend a nice time in the historic old town, they also had the time to shop in one of Warsaw's major shopping centers.

Central Taekwon-Do Camp passed by quickly and in spite of the tiredness resulting from the great activity of the participants, everyone with smile on their face and dressed in new camp T-shirts declared their coming back next year for the 23rd edition, which will take place from 06th to 15th July 2018
