Newsletter Newsletter 3/2017 2nd “Gen. Choi Memorial Cup”, Romania 2017

The second edition of the International Taekwon-do ITF Cup General Choi was held în Oradea, Bihor County, Romania, between June 30 and July 2, 2017, an event in memory of the founding father of taekwond-do, the famous Gen. Choi Hong Hi.

Organized by Romanian Taekwon-do I.T.F. Federation and Tae-Kyon Sports Club Oradea, through its president, Alexandru Sas, the event brought together over 300 athletes, a total of 19 participating sports clubs from Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Ukraine and Bulgaria. The taekwon-do competitions were intended to junior athletes III, II, I and seniors, divided into 5 contests: patterns, sparring, power-breaking, special techniques and traditional sparring.

These are the general official results of the event, depending on age categories and on the basis of medals accumulated by sports club representatives in the competition events:

General classification - Juniors III, II, I and Seniors:
1st place. CS WOLF - Oradea
2nd place. C.S. P.U.M.A. - Sibiu 
3rd place. CS LIGA DE EST - Vaslui 
General classification - Juniors II and III:
1st place. C.S. P.U.M.A. - Sibiu
2nd place. CS WOLF - Oradea
3rd place. Hungarian Taekwon-do Team
General classification – Juniors I:
1st place. CS LIGA DE EST - Vaslui 
2nd place. CS WOLF - Oradea
3rd place. CS ȘTIINȚA-DRAGONUL - Baia Mare
General classification - Seniors:
1st place. CS ȘTIINȚA-DRAGONUL - Baia Mare
2nd place. CS TAE-KYON - Oradea
3rd place. CS LIGA DE EST - Vaslui

The official opening ceremony was a festive one with the participation of all members of the Board of the Federation, headed by Cosmin Oprescu, its president. The best athletes were rewarded and applauded for their performance:

The event was organized by Romanian Taekwon-do ITF Federation and Tae-Kyon Sports Club Oradea and is strategically supported by the Romanian Youth and Sport Minisstry, ANDU, GAMA.
