Newsletter Newsletter 1/2017 IX “Levski” Cup in Bulgaria

On 18-19 February 2017 in “Eng. Yanko Yankov” Sports Hall, Elin Pelin city, Bulgaria under the patronage of the Mayor of Elin Pelin Municipality Mr. Ivaylo Simeonov, was held the IX Quadrathlon Taekwon-Do Open Championship for “Levski” Cup. The event organized by Taekwon-Do Club “Levski”, Sports Club “Levski”, Sports Association of Ministry of Interior, Central Police Taekwon-Do Club, Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-Do and the Municipality of Elin Pelin.

Official guests to the competition were Mr. Stoyan Stoyanov – Deputy Mayor of Elin Pelin Municipality, Mr. Ivan Mladenov – Secretary General of Sports Association of Ministry of Interior.

A total number of 272 competitors from 22 clubs participated in the individual disciplines: Pattern, Sparring, Special Techniques, Power Test Pre-arranged Sparring, and were divided in the groups of children (6-7, 8-9, 10-11 years), kadets (12-13 years), juniors (14-17 years) and seniors (over 18 years).

The 57 members Umpire team headed by Mr. Hristiyan Tsankov used BulScore in the 5 rings for all disciplines for the 2 days competition.

Final overall standings:
Children (6-11 years)
1. TC Levski “61 School” – 14 gold, 8 silver, 5 bronze;
2. NSU “Sofia” – 12 gold, 21 silver, 19 bronze;
3. CPTC “97 School” – 11 gold, 10 silver, 12 bronze.

Kadets (12-13 years) and Juniors (14-17 years)
1. CPTC “97 School” – 13 gold, 4 silver, 5 bronze;
2. “Rakovski” – 6 gold, 4 silver, 5 bronze;
3. NSU “Sofia” – 5 gold, 5 silver, 6 bronze.

Seniors (over 18 years)
1. “Rakovski” – 4 gold, 0 silver, 1 bronze;
2. CPTC “137 School” – 3 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze;
3. CPTC “97 School” – 2 gold, 2 silver, 0 bronze.

2. CPTC “97 School” – 550 points;
3. TC Levski “61 School” – 399 points.
