The ITF Radix Project as introduced by instructors Robert Boer (6. dan) and Roy Rolstad (5. dan) was introduced to Denmark on the December 3rd. and 4th. in the Capital City Copenhagen.
30 participants from different countries arrived on a cold saturday to the venue in Copenhagen, making the seminar an international event. The dojang where also the Copenhagen Club has its daily trainings.
Other than Danish instructors and students participants from Sweden, Brazil, Australia, Greece, England, Finland and Switzerland experienced two full days of interesting training and mind blowing applications. We were very fortunate to have the participation also of Master Peter Logozar from Sweden.
The project of working with different applications of pattern techniques for self defence was kick started with a presentation of the project and a theoretical lecture. For applications the first day saw a focus on techniques from Chon-Ji to Do-San tul with some teaser applications from higher patterns.
Many participants had “Light Bulb” moments already on the first day and agreed that a lot was learned and inspirations found to be passed on in regular classes.
Saturday evening saw a group of participants meeting for a nice dinner and leisure with the instructors and the president of the Danish Federation
Day two focused on movements from higher patterns and specifically black belt patterns. Participants even had homework as to find self defence application from there own pattern.
Due time was found also for discussions and debates on applications and the history of individual techniques.
It is safe to say that all participants had a mind blowing experience and gain new knowledge on practical self defence. The instructors are indeed very competent and teach in a professional manner with room for fun and games.
I can highly recommend other organisations to invite the Radix Project and without doubt promise the the Radix Project and instructors will be invited to Denmark in the future again.
