On 19 November 2016 in “Arena Armeec” small sports hall, Sofia, Bulgaria Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-Do and Central Police Taekwon-Do Club together with the Sports Association of Ministry of Interior of Bulgaria organized „Sofia Open 2016“ Quadrathlon Taekwon-Do tournament. In the competition participated 310 athletes aged 6 years and above representing 26 clubs from Bulgaria, Greece, Slovakia and Slovenia. The participants competed in the individual disciplines of Sparring, Pattern, Special Techniques and Power Test. The Chief Umpire of the Tournament managed 7 rings with 70 Umpires using BulScore wireless electronic system in all dojangs.
We were honored with the presence of our special guest of the Tournament GM Panagiotis Gialamas from Greece who greeted the competitors and Mr. Ivan Mladenov – Secretary General of Sports Association of Ministry of Interior officially opened the Competition.
Organizing Committee of the Competition would like to express sincere gratitude to the leaders of the guest clubs of Sofia Open 2016 – Mr. Vahid Drapic, coach of TKD Klub Ahac Šentjur Slovenia, Mr. Robert Baláž coach of Ge-baek Prešov Slovakia, Mr. Konstantinos Gialamas coach of AO Aristotelis Kopanos Greece, Mr. Panagiotis Dimitriadis coach of AC Quadrathlon Naoussa Greece! Their participation in this event raised the level of the competition and we hope to meet them again in 2017.
Our guests also had the opportunity to see the big hall of “Arena Armeec” where will be held the European Taekwon-Do Championships in 2017.
