For the 21st time was held the Central Summer Taekwon-Do Camp in Poland. It took place traditionally in Biala Podlaska, but this year in a different than usually term: from 19th to 28th August 2016. The aim of this change was the competitors’ preparations for the upcoming 6th World Cup, to be held in October 2016 in Budapest, Hungary.

The participants came from ten countries: Belarus, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Norway, Romania, Uzbekistan and Poland, which was represented by the competitors from 19 schools: Akademia Taekwon-Do VIRTUS Łomazy, Centrum Taekwon-Do w Łodzi, Częstochowska Akademia Taekwon-Do, Klub Koreańskiej Sztuki Walki TKD w Lubinie, Klub Sportowy Dragon Janów, Klub Sportowy Taekwon Kolbudy, Klub Taekwon-Do Tradycyjnego w Łodzi, Lubelski Sportowy Klub Taekwon-Do, MKS Lewart AGS Lubartów, MKS Żak Biała Podlaska, Ognisko TKKF-Taekwon Mokotów Warszawa, Poznański Sportowy Klub Taekwon-Do, Radzyńskie Sportowe Centrum Taekwon-Do Radzyń Podlaski, Rzeszowski Klub Taekwon-Do, Sportowy Klub Taekwon-Do Sung Kraków, Stołeczny Sportowy Klub Taekwon-Do Garda Warszawa, TAEWO KWSW Warszawa, Warszawski Instytut KWON Warszawa i Wrocławski Sportowy Klub Taekwon-Do.
It became already tradition that the organizers assure wide array of activities for attendees such as: yoga, sparring or pattern training session divided into different age and level groups. It was possible to use swimming pool twice a day as well as take advantage of sauna. An inseparable element of the camp was individual work with the instructors during individual tutorial. For the first time in history of the camps the disco took place for children as well as for elder participants.
Training classes were conducted by Master Jerzy Jedut – 8th Degree, Master Tadeusz Loboda – 8th Degree, Mr. Jaroslaw Suska – 6th Degree, Mr. Robert Jasiński – 6th Degree and Mr. Andrzej Kozlowski (2nd Degree).
Particularly gratifying is the fact that old competitors from Polish National Team, who took part in the camps long time ago, now after many years are coming back and training again.
The Taekwon-Do community also welcomes very much the fact that the people from new countries are joining the event in Poland. This year the representatives of the Cyprus, who took part in the camp for the first time, were very well received by all participants. Mr. Alex Naziris, 5th Degree, President of ITF Cyprus, who came to Biała Podlaska with two other instructors from Cyprus, made a huge expression due to the fact, that despite the matured age, took part in six training sessions every day, which was awesome achievement.
The camp gave all a positive impulse in order to enter with full energy into the new sport season, which starts already in September. However, in the next year the organizers are going to come back to the July’s term and the next, 22nd Central Summer Taekwon-Do Camp will take place from 7 to 16 July 2017 in Biała Podlaska.
