ITF Belgium Visits Bulgaria

On the official invitation of Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-Do on 2-3 July 2016 Master Frank Vanberghen, VIII Degree, Technical Director and Sabum Annick Van Driessche, President of ITF Belgium visited Bulgaria to conduct technical seminar and black belt exam.

Even with late arrival due to flight delay on Saturday, 2 July, the seminar started at 10:00 AM. Sabum Annick made short, intense and entertaining warm up for all 73 participants from blue belt and above.

Then Master Vanberghen continued with explanation of the patterns starting from Chon-Ji. Later the group was separated and the color belts continued with Sabum Annick Van Driessche who offered a lot of funny exercises and challenging tasks. Master Vanberghen continued with the patterns for the higher degrees up to Moon-Moo.

After the end of the Seminar every participant was given Diploma for participation and the guests received special plaque for their visit.

The program continued with black belt grading and the applicants were divided again in 2 groups – holders of I dan and II dan were examined by Sabum Annick Van Driessche and the holders of III dan and IV dan were examined by Master Vanberghen. Fortunately all 8 applicants successfully passed exam and achieved higher degrees, congratulations to all of them:

  2. Stefan Karadzhov – II dan
  3. Bilyana Nikiforova – III dan
  4. Mario Danov – III dan
  5. Dimitar Doychev – IV dan
  6. Vanya Bojkova-Kostadinova – IV dan
  7. Julian Iliev – V dan
  8. Vencislav Ignatov – V dan

After short refreshment break the day continued with dinner where our guests tried typical Bulgarian cuisine in very friendly and cordial atmosphere.

On Sunday, 3 July, Master Vanberghen and Sabum Van Driessche had the possibility to visit the office of Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-Do where Mr. Vencislav Ignatov (President of BAT), Milena Ignatova (Office Manager) and Yavor Tasev (Secretary General of BAT) presented the administrative procedures of the organization. Also our guests made very positive comments of Bulscore (the Bulgarian scoring system) which will be used on the upcoming European Championships in Sofia after the brief presentation of Mr. Ivan Kolchagov (IT specialist and developer of the system). The program continued with sightseeing of the center of Sofia.
