On April 17, 2016 in Minsk was held the first Taekwon-do Cup of the Republic of Belarus.

The Cup had gathered a large number of participants from different cities of our country. The number of children, who came to fight for the championship, has exceeded 350 participants.

The Cup was organized by the Belarusian Public Association of Taekwon-do. In the Cup took part such clubs as: "Juche", "Sparta", "Belarusian Public Association of Taekwon-do" and "Belarusian Republican Organization of Taekwon-do". Present were coaches from Minsk - Leonid Rachkovsky, Oleg Pronevich, Aleksei Majewski, representatives of the Minsk district – Pavel Yarmoshuk, Evgeniy Rodchenko, instructors representing the Minsk region and the city of Marina Gorka - Elena Reshetnikova, the team of coaches from Vitebsk – Artem Krishtofovich, Dmitriy Lyubochko, Dmitriy Zezyulin as well as representatives from Lepel, Vitebsk region - Inna Popova and coach from Svetlogorsk, Gomel region – Leonid Savich.

The fast growing number of coaching staff is worth noticing as well as the quickly increasing number of newly open schools all over the Republic. For example, team from Vitebsk was consolidated by new coach Dmitry Lyubochko. In addition, there was a new group opened in Osipovichi, Mogilev region, where the coach is Svetlana Zhuravel.

During the opening ceremony of the competition some coaches were awarded for the active participation in the development of Taekwon-Do in Belarus. The National Team that was going to represent our country in April at the European Championship 2016 in Finland, was presented to auditorium. And finally Mr. Sergey Vinnikov - the chief judge of the competition addressed his words of gratitude to the participants and their parents.

The competitions were held in five squares. 42 umpires were working during the championships. Thanks to their work and good organization of the Cup of the Republic of Belarus the competition run smoothly with no delays and was completed exactly on time.

We are grateful to the coaches for their participation. And undoubtedly, thanks to the parents who helped during the event we can surely state that their assistance to conduct such competitions is helping us to develop the sport across the country.

Taekwon-Do Cup of the Republic of Belarus proved to be a kind of summarising event of the work done during the entire season. The last cup has confirmed the success of the annual work of the organizers, namely, the Belarusian Association of Taekwondo, coaches and of course, the athletes.

According to the results of competitions in team sparring the first place went to the team whose coach is Evgeniy Rodchenko. Second was the team by Pavel Yarmoshuk and in third place was located the team of Oleg Pronevich.
