Vaslui City, Romania, hosted between the 12th and 13th of March 2016 The National Taekwon-do ITF Championship for Juniors and Seniors, an event organized by the ITF Romanian Taekwon-do Federation and “Eastern League” Sports Club Vaslui. 160 athelets from 18 sports clubs from all over Romania and their great passion for Taekwon-do – made this event a great success.

The Taekwon-do Championship adressed to Juniors and Seniors was a great event, and about 160 athletes from across the country, 18 sports clubs, 40 referees along with members of the ITF Romanian Taekwon-do Federation, arrived in the picturesque town of Vaslui in the beautiful Moldavia region and participated in one of the most important Taekwon-do events in Romania.

The openning ceremony was one of a Western-style , with red carpet reception of the National Romanian Taekwon-do Team in the applause of the audience. One of the special guests of the event was the mayor of the hosting city, Mr.Vasile Paval which, through the City Council, was one of the supporters of this championship.

The National Championship coincided with the anniversary of 25 years of taekwon-do in Vaslui and the President of the Romanian Federation, Mr. Cosmin Oprescu, handed over a trophy to Mr.Marcel Miron as a recognition of his amazing performances along the years (nine times European Champion, triple World Vice-Champion and Multiple National Champion). On this occasion , “Eastern League” Sports Club congratulated their former athletes and offered the public a beautiful taekwon-do demonstration.
