This weekend was held 14th year of international competition in Taekwondo ITF also known as Prešov OPEN 2016. 210 participating athletes from 7countries Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania attended competition.

Our club ŠK Taekwon-Do GE - BAEK Prešov was also participating in this wonderful event with alot of great competitors. Unfortunately our club did not win the price for the best club, but received great amount of medals in individual categories together 11 gold, 4 silver and 10 bronze medals.

The competition started during Friday evening where more than half of the competitorsregistered. The competition started around 9:30 am with individual categories for youngest with lowest belts. During Saturday we could see competing children, juniors and senior in individual patterns, sparing and special techniques.

The whole day was finished with excellent official openingceremony where the president of ŠK Taekwon-Do GE - BAEK Prešov Tomáš Olejár, the coach of representation Róbert Baláž, the major of Prešov Ing. Andrea Turčanová and PaedDr. Jozef Muránsky from Department of Education, Culture and Tourism gave speeches. Sunday morning competitioncontinued with individual categories and followed with team patterns and team sparring.

The whole day finished with power breaking tests of seniors. All winning participants were awarded and also the best male and female children, junior and senior were announced and honored with cups and special prices. The mostsuccessful club was from Romania with head coach Romeo Tulkos with IV. DAN, the Vicepresident of Romanian Federation of Korean Martial Sports. The competition was very successful and hopefully next year we will see even more participants that will show their best skills.
