On 13th February 2016 the Belarusian Public Association TKD ITF has organized the nationwide tournament entitled "The First Boxing Glove".
The competition was held one week after the local tournament under the same name took place in Minsk. We wrote about in the report under the link: http://www.itfeurope.org/NL2016-01-38.html
The “The First Boxing Glove” competition is the one of the most anticipated and indicative annual republic tournaments. It was held on Saturday, February 13th, 2016. Invariably, the event becomes a great start for each participant. This is the first opportunity for the beginners to test their strength and courage. The tournament was already held for the 8th time from the day it was founded.
This year many schools from all over the Belarusian Republic took part in the tournament (not only from Minsk and its region but also from other different parts of the country). A large number of coaches from Minsk: among of them were newcomers like Aleksey Majewski and Pavel Yarmoshuk for the first time experienced the joy of winning of their students. Present were many regional representatives from Marina Gorka (coach - Elena Reshetnikova) and from the new - this year opened group from Osipovichi (coach – Zuravel Svetlana), a team arrived from Lepel, and again returned crew from Svetlogorsk (coach – Leonid Savich), large and friendly team from Vitebsk (coaches – Dmitriy Zezulin and Artem Khrishophovich).
We had seen unprecedented excitement intensified regions. This allows us to make a conclusion about a growing importance of Taekwon-Do in our country and its development in all parts of our country.
The republic tournament was held in a friendly atmosphere based on mutual assistance and understanding. Competitions were held in three courts. A notification should be done about a good job of umpires’ team. In addition to the main competition firstly in our country on the additional square was held a relay for children. Each child could check their physical fitness and received a keepsake - a magnet with symbols of tournament.
As a new tradition the tournament's organizers could not leave the children without the demonstration performance. Members of a Junior National Team of the Belarusian Public Association of Taekwon-Do for their own example showed newcomers the skills which they could achieve in future. Also, we do not remain the coaches that cannot stand on the sideline. With no preparation they showed unmistakable skills of power breaking of boards than caused delight of the audience. We should remark high appreciation about the organizational work of the tournament. Special thanks to the organizers of the tournament, judging team and coaches.
Medal standing of the best schools was as follows:
