Lublin, Poland – A few months ago miss Joanna Lipa (multi time champion, V degree, international umpire, Poland) and mr. Tim Kool (multi time champion, V degree, national team coach, the Netherlands) came up with the idea of an instructor exchange program. The idea was that mr. Tim Kool would teach classes for a few days at Lubelski Sportowy Klub (founded by master Loboda) in Lublin and miss Joanna Lipa would later come and teach different groups at Sportschool Tim Kool’s gyms in Delft and Schiedam. This is a very different concept then the usual seminars that are given worldwide.
From Saturday 6th to Thuesday 9th of February mr. Tim Kool has been teaching different classes at Lubelski Sportowy Klub. The groups diversified from a high-level competitor group, a group for recreational training and some kids groups. The students all really liked the different way of teaching. Next to teaching the classes mr. Tim Kool also visited a group of children from SOS Children’s Villages. The children could ask all kind of questions, which were very interesting, as they have never met somebody from the Netherland.
Even the media was interested in this special exchange event, so they send a television crew to make a report. Later that evening, after having dinner with master Loboda and his wife and daughter, and miss Rogaczewska, miss Joanna Lipa and mr. Tim Kool were invited to the polish national television network station to be in the audience when the Taekwon-Do news item was broadcasted live.
On Monday a trip to the AETF headquarters was planned. Master Loboda and miss Rogaczewska took the time to explain to mr. Tim Kool what kind of work they are doing there, but also how the Polish and European ITF association works. The Polish association has been a very well organised and structured organisation for years, which a lot of other associations can learn from. The fact that master Loboda wants to share his knowledge means a lot. Too bad four hours wasn’t enough to explain everything, so mr. Tim Kool will probably go back to learn even more.
Next to the teaching there was also some sightseeing in Lublin. Miss Joanna Lipa showed mr. Tim Kool the old city centre and the old castle. Lublin is a very interesting city, which master Loboda knows everything about. This exchange program shows what the same passion for Taekwon-Do can do. Hopefully this collaboration between international instructors will inspire others to do the same. Taekwon-Do is all about sharing experiences.
