On Saturday, 12th December 2015 in the Headquarters of Polish Taekwon-Do Association took place the first annual meeting of PTA Board of Directors elected at the General Election Assemble held on 14th November 2015 in Warsaw. Master Jerzy Jedut for the first time occurred in his new role as the President of PTA.
The December meeting is the most important meeting of the PTA Board, due to the fact that during it the Board decided about the strategy of the organization for the upcoming year.
Therefore the decisions were taken about the organizational and financial matters. The Board decided about all kind of fees to be due to for schools in 2016, which will stay on the level of the payments in 2015. Also the list of the national examiners for color belts was approved as well as the rights to host the most important national events such as: Polish Cup, Grand Prix and Polish Juniors Younger, Juniors and Seniors Championships.
One of most important issues was the update of the Rules of Sport Rivalry System for Talented Youth 2016 under the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. The Board took decision to implement into to the rules the junior power test and extend to three years the age of children competitors. In 2016 the years of birth in this age category will be 2003-2005.
Due to the fact that the Association is very conservative, as a breaking point was treated the decision to prepare the rules to recognize the degrees up to 3rd Degree achieved in other federations/organizations. The change was driven by the fact that there are schools associated in other organizations than Polish Taekwon-Do Association which are interested to join PTA. By now the suppressing factor was the necessity to gain degrees from the beginning even if somebody was practicing for many years. The proposed change will make it possible to obtain the degree during the re-sit exam without the need to pass the grading all degrees one by one.
The Board decided that Master Loboda – currently the PTA Vice-President for organizational and educational matters will be a serving member of the Board. It will allow continuing the whole work of the PTA HQ.
The PTA Board appointed also 5 people to the position of the Polish National Team Coach in the term 2015-2019. Next to the previous coaches Mr. Waldemar Dolecki and Mr. Grzegorz Ozimek – female team coaches, Mr. Łukasz Stawarz and Mr. Jaroslaw Suska for male team coaches was also appointed Mr. Marcin Wołosz. He will replace Mr. Michal Korzybski who resigned from that position.
It was decided that the Association will come back to the organization of the International Taekwon-Do Matches. The first event will be the International Taekwon-Do Match Uzbekistan – Poland and will take place from 26th to 28th February 2015 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Next board meeting will take place during the Polish Cup 2016 in March 2016 in Rybnik.
