When I was a student, my teachers at the sport University were teaching us that “stability is a sign of skill”.
Indeed stability means reliability!! “Moscow Challenge” is a competition that we started 15 years ago! Many things changed in those years. Some people came, same left, some competitions disappeared and some began, but we still continue to exist and develop. 15 years ago we started with only 3 districts in Russia and now we have our members in 46 districts. You can say that this is a story of success, but I can tell You that this is a story of real hard work and devotion to Your students, instructors and friends.
15 years ago Moscow Challenge was the only one big competition in Russia. Nowadays we achieved to have competitions almost in every our district. We have our electronic system of umpiring that we produce in Russia. We have an extra safe power test electronic device that allow to all ages to compete, and many more. Yes we made a big step forward but still personally I believe that this is only the beginning!
Things change and our biggest competition remains!! During the 15 years of its evolution we had over 12000 participants from 10 countries Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Latvia and Belorussia.
On 29th November in Moscow the Capital of Russia took place the 15th edition of Moscow Challenge! This time we had 42 delegations from 4 countries Russia, Belorussia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan with totally of 913 competitors from age 6-17 years old only! It is why all senior competitors are involved in Umpiring and organization of competition. Personally I believe that if we add the adult-senior divisions we will be able easily to achieve 1500 competitors! But this is only for the future. The younger competitors, 6-9 years old, compete only in patterns. Competitors from 10 to 17 years compete in patterns, sparing and power test. This Year we had 11 competition squares, 10 for patterns and sparing and one for power test, which were working simultaneously!
This was another successful event and we already start our preparations for next year!
