On November 29th 2015 was held the TOP TEN ITALIAN OPEN in the Sportshall PalaBorsani in Legnano (Milan). The competition area was set with 5 squares serviced by screens and electronic scoring system for cadets / juniors and seniors and 2 squares for children.

The participation was satisfactory with 379 competitors from Argentina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, England, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Italy. Grand Master Bos, assisted by the organizer Master Orlando Saccomanno, presented the two guests of honor of the event: Grand Master Lan, member of the ITF Technical Committee and Master Coos Van De Heuvel, Chairman ITF Tournament Committee, and the newly promoted
Master of FITAE-ITF: Master Sergio Sergi and Master Alessandro Cavidossi.

Mr. Mikhail Voronstov created HANDLE SPORT, the on-line registration procedure, and managed the competition allowing the quick and correct execution of all categories. Special mention goes to the electronic system and related instrumentation, offered and operated by some members of ITF Bulgaria led by Chairman Mr. Ignatov, which worked perfectly and raised the quality level of the competition, offering a precise and fluid competition, respectful of the planned schedule.

Thanks to the presence of 50 Italian and foreign referees, directed by Master Stefano Minotti, the championship run smoothly and no problems or complains were recorded.

In the morning pattern competition and in the afternoon sparring for all categories, with world famous champions as Farigu, Douley, Persia, Bos, Brider, Smith, Galli, Pecchia, Trimboli, that brought up the technical level of the tournament. The sparring competition system for black belts allowed two main categories: the classical one and the so called ELITE PRO, reserved to members of the national teams. The winners of the Elite Pro categories, both junior and senior, may access for the title of GRAND CHAMPION (Male -70 kg, +70 kg Male, Female one cat. only) for the first time in Italy in a Taekwondo competition with a cash prize for the winners, this time of 500 Euro, possibly higher in the future.

The GRAND CHAMPION winners were:

• ANNA PINTON (ITA) One cat.only
• TIMOTHY BOS (ITA) Cat. Male -70 kg Junior / Senior
• JASON BINT (ENG) Cat. +70 Kg Male Junior / Senior

Anna Pinton, multi medalist in the last European Championships, beat Petra Mucsy (Hungary) in an exciting final showing her good mental and tactical preparation. She trains in Padua with Mr. Alessandro Boscari and Mr. Francesco Milli that coached her during the competition.

Timothy Bos, recent European and World Champion in pattern and vice champion in sparring, beat Tudor Mocanu an emerging well prepared Italian competitor. Timothy trains in Rome with Mr. Leandro Iagher, head coach of the Italian national team.

Jason Bint, bronze sparring medalist -70 kg in the last world Championship in Jesolo and silver medalist in the 2014 Euros, trains in Newbury (England) with Master Ogborne and was coached by Mr. Daniel Lammin, one of the national coaches of England. Jason beat Giuseppe Girtelli a strong junior competitor of the Italian national team.

The awards were given to the 1st, 2nd and one 3rd place only, and a little medal was given to all participating children.

The organizer, Master Orlando Saccomanno, recorded a nice feedback from the participants happy to have spent a nice Taekwon-Do day in a friendly atmosphere. FITAE-ITF confirmed to be able to offer a warm welcome, a good level of Taekwon-Do, as well as an efficient event organization.
