The Urals (Russian: Ура́л) is a geographical region located around the Ural Mountains, between the East European and West Siberian plains. It extends approximately from north to south, from the Arctic Ocean to the bend of Ural River near Orsk city. The boundary between Europe and Asia runs along the eastern side of the Ural Mountains.
And this was our destination for the next day after the Central Federal district of Russia Championships, which took place on 31st January 2015 in the city of Voronezh (the report was published under the link: http://www.itfeurope.org/NL2015-01-41.html).
The championships in Voronezh were the first big tournament of all Russian Taekwon-Do ITF Federation of the new 2015 year. On the same day in the evening we had to return to Moscow just to change flights to be able to participate the day after in the Ural Cup in the city of Ekaterinburg. The reason of this situation was only because there was not direct flight between the cities Voronezh and Ekaterinburg. Therefore we had to spend another night in airplane, but it was worth it.
The Ural cup started right at 9 o’clock local time at 1st February 2015 in Ekaterinburg, which is the fourth-largest city in Russia and the administrative center of Sverdlovsk Oblast.
The Chairmen of the Umpire Committee was Mr. Yury Gromov and the honorable guest was Master Tsilfidis Lazaros, President of All Russia Taekwon-Do Federation. Few instructors from Moscow: Mr. Alexandr Leonov, Mr. Dmitry Cherkasov, Mr. Andres Gomez and the secretary general of the cup Maxim Lavrinenko were invited to help in umpiring matters by providing fair judgments.
The cup was organized by Mr. Konstentin Grevtsev and had approximately 300 competitors from 7 districts of Russia. This was the last biggest event before all Russia Taekwon-Do Championships that will take place at the end of February.
