Olympic Nomination for Mr. Tomaz Barada

With a great pleasure we would like to inform that on 16th December 2014 at the 35th meeting of the Assembly of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia held in Lublijana, Mr. Tomaz Barada, President of Slovenian Taekwon-Do Association, Member of the AETF Board of Directors was elected to the position of the Vice-President of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia.

On 10th January 2014 in Warsaw, Poland during the AETF Board of Directors, Master Tadeusz Loboda, AETF President handed over to Mr. Barada an official congratulations letter. On behalf of the AETF Board of Directors he congratulated Mr. Barada on being entrusted with such an eminent function. He expressed opinion that this nomination will contribute the promotion and development of ITF Taekwon-Do in Slovenia as well as Slovenian Taekwon-Do Association.

Mr. Tomaž Barada is an outstanding and famous athlete in Slovenia and in the Taekwon-Do community worldwide. He was three times World Champion and six times European Champion in individual sparring.

Below are chosen some of his biggest achievements in the chronological order:

From 1995 to 2012 he was coach of the National Team of Slovenia and his students have achieved many great successes.

Mr. Barada was elected to the position of the President of Slovenian Taekwon-Do Association in 2007 and is fulfilling this position until today. He has shown himself also as a very good organizer of such events as the Slovenia Open tournaments or the European Taekwon-Do Championships 2012.

In the years 1994 and 2004 he was six times proclaimed the Best Sportsman of city Maribor (Slovenia) and received the highest sports award in Slovenia - Stanko Bloudek Award.
