It is with a great pleasure to inform the community of Taekwon-Do in Europe that the State of Israel has officially accepted the Taekwon-Do ITF as a sport, and as of the 28th of April the Israel Traditional Taekwon-Do Association ITF is a member of the Ministry of Sports in the State of Israel.
The main credit for this success should be given to three people who are the pillars of the Taekwon-Do ITF activity in Israel i.e, President Dani Roth, the Secretary General, Mr. Leo Oros-Duek and Mr. Luis Sajnovetzky who had fought (together with the other members of the board) for this recognition for many years with non-compromising determination, with passion and a with a deep believe that they have a just cause.
This success would not be possible without the help of Mr. Efraim Barak, a legal adviser of Israel Traditional Taekwon-Do Association ITF. For his services to the development of Taekwon-Do in Israel Mr. Barak will be awarded by the ITF Board of Directors with an honorary black belt.
Hereby, Israel is the fifteenth country which achieved the recognition of the Ministry of Sport in All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation. The other countries with the national authorities’ recognition are: England, Finland, Georgia, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.
This is a very important step towards the continuation of the development of Taekwon-Do in Israel but also in Europe. We hope it will be a good example for countries that are trying to get the state recognition but still did not succeed.
On Behalf of the Board of Directors of All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation we would like to congratulate Mr. Efraim Barak and the Board of Directors of Israel Traditional Taekwon-Do Association ITF for obtaining the recognition of the Ministry of Sport in Israel.
