When I was studying physical culture and sport science in the Central University of Sport and Physical Culture of Russia in the late 90s, the first thing I learned was that the most important of all is the knowledge of the teacher. Only if there are instructors equipped with a deep academic knowledge on their profession, based on different senses which are necessary for the specific profession we will have a good result. The education can not exist without a program.

This is why I decided to write a student manual and I called it "The way to success". This is a book which allows educating instructors to follow a program that put standards for all. It is partly based on my Ph.D. thesis which I wrote in 1999. However, I tried to change the language of it to less scientific one and more interesting for the students and their parents.

The manual is actually a step by step program from beginners white belt up to black belt. In every step, every belt, the student must learn physical and theoretical knowledge. All physical skills including Taekwon-Do techniques are painted in MANGA style and they are much closer and interesting for younger students than ordinary photos.

The theory begins with simple questions and answers, and progress with more difficulties as the students belts evaluate. In theory student learn different aspects from sports science, education, Taekwon-Do history, competition rules, martial artists’ philosophy and tenets of way of life. The book is complemented with photos signed with motivators that are supposed to develop right behavior, motivation, understanding, goals and loyalty of the student.

Finally the manual is ending with the most frequently asked question that I faced during my teaching practice.

The thing that made me more happy and proud is that after printing the first 50 samples I made a presentation of the manual during our congress and I told that 5000 books will be printed. And only after a month the whole publication was sold out in less than 2 hours after all Russia Taekwon-Do Federation delegates meeting. So now we are working on a new order of next 5000 books which are already partly sold. The books should be ready in the beginning of the new school year.
