Newsletter 1/2014 VI “Levski” Cup in Bulgaria
Under the patronage of the Mayor of Elin Pelin Municipality Mrs. Galia Georgieva, was held the VI Taekwon-Do Open Championship for “Levski” Cup. The event organized by Taekwon-Do Club “Levski”, Sports Club “Levski”, Sports Association of Ministry of Interior, Central Police Taekwon-Do Club, Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-Do and the Municipality of Elin Pelin took place in “Eng. Yanko Yankov” Sports Hall, Elin Pelin city, Bulgaria, on 23 February 2014.
We were honored to have as official guests to the competition Mr. Ivan Mladenov – Secretary General of Sports Association of Ministry of Interior, Mr. Lusien Velchev – First Deputy Chairman of Sports Club “Levski”, Mrs. Vanina Milanova – Chief of Marketing Department of Sports Club “Levski”, Mrs. Angelina Dimitrova – Deputy Mayor of Elin Pelin Municipality. A total number of 234 competitors from 24 clubs participated in the individual disciplines: Pattern, Sparring, Special Tecnique and Power Test, and were divided in the groups of children (6-7, 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 years) and juniors (14-17 years). Related to the 100 year anniversary of the largest sports club in Bulgaria, badge of honor “100 years Levski” was given by Mr. Lusien Velchev to several distinguished representatives for their merit in the development of Taekwon-Do ITF.
