– How Anna and Robert Lewandowski found their way to Tan Gun Sports –
Master Brahim Triqui can´t remember the exact date, but he remembers the occasion very well. “He was here with me at the bar and asked if it is possible for his girlfriend to train with us.”
Master Triqui, german national coach, is head of the sports center Tan Gun (Taekwon-Do / Kickboxing ) on the Mengeder Straße in Lünen. His guest on this day in the autumn of 2010: Borussia Dortmund´s No 1 goalgetter Robert Lewandowski, who was at that also living in Lünen. Master Brahim Triqui did not recognize Robert Lewandowski. He told him, his girlfriend is welcome at any time to join the training. A few days later Anna Stachurska, Robert Lewandowski´s girlfriend sat with Master Brahim Triqui at a table at the sports center. "She said: My friend, Robert Lewandowski, notified you about me.” But even then it didn´t click, Brahim remembers.
Eventually he became aware who´s ´girlfriend the new student was, that asked for training. Anna Stachurska is nowadays, about three years later, Anna Lewandowski. Half a year ago the couple left Lünen for Dortmund-Schüren. Anna Lewandowski is still a member of Tan Gun Sports. It is important to her to train regularly with the kick boxing team. Anna is Polish National Karate Champion and became also World Champion Gold medalist with the polish Team at Prague in December 2013. At Tan Gun Sports she has the opportunity to practice with training partners at her level which is invaluable for her, says Triqui.
Most of the time Anna will be accompanied by Robert Lewandowski the leading top scorer in the Bundesliga. "A very nice guy," Master Triqui says about Robert Lewandowski. "From day one of our acquaintanceship Robert always presented himself in a humble and modest way without any airs and graces". Master Triqui emphasizes: "According to our equality principle he is treated like everybody else, with the only exception that he was asked for a little Foto shooting with our students, which he did not refuse at all.”
The 25-year-old Robert Lewandowski take an active part in the lessons. He only does a little stretching and some exercise with moderate weights. Martial Art training is out of bounds for him because of the risk to be injured. Lewandowski and his wife are going to leave the Ruhr area and Borussia Dortmund. The next stop of the striker will be FC Bayern Munich. "Clearly too far away from us to keep on training with us", says Master Triqui and laughs. But: "Anna has promised to visit us whenever possible. Her successes show that she prepared herself well at Tan Gun Sports.”
