The Irish National Taekwon-Do Association held their 2013 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Dublin on the 1st of December. The meeting saw instructors from all over the country convene to recap on the successes of the year and the upcoming events for 2014. Master Brendan O’Toole (President) opened the meeting with a short review of the activities of 2013. Notably, the INTA Open which was held in March of 2013, and the Instructor Technical Seminar (ITC) which was held in September and the INTA National Championships which were held in October. The Board also introduced Ms. Aishling Tallon, the INTA PR Officer.
Ms. Amy-Jane Troy (General Secretary) then presented the assembly with the minutes of the 2012 AGM and discussed key administration activities from 2012 including the increasing number of new club set-ups, large increase in students testing for black belts and the new aspect of the Instructor Technical Course. The results of survey distributed earlier in the year were relayed to all instructors and included information that would be used to inform promotional campaigns and events for 2014.
The 2014 calendar of events was also discussed and a particular emphasis was placed on the INTA Open and the IIC that will be hosted by the INTA in the Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin. The meeting culminated with opinions and suggestions from Instructors for the 2014 period. Some very proactive ideas were put forward and the INTA look forward to addressing these ideas moving forward into 2014.
