Newsletter 4/2013 10th Anniversary of Slovak Union of TKD
On Saturday, November 16th, 2013 on the invitation of Mr. Ladislav Hunady, President of Slovak Union of Taekwon-do ITF, Master Tadeusz Loboda - President of All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation and Polish Taekwon-Do Association, and Master Jerzy Jedut - AETF Secretary General and PTA Vice-President, took part in the celebration of the 10th anniversary of establishment of Slovak Union of Taekwon-Do ITF.
The event was held in the conference-dining hall in the Polo Hotel at Karpatska 18/A in Presov, Slovakia. Almost 70 people current and former officers, best competitors and invited guests gathered together to celebrate SUT jubilee.
Everyone, arriving to the conference hall, was welcomed by Mr. Ladislav Hunady and his wife Maria and was awarded with a special anniversary plaque and each woman received additionally a rose. Then the guests were guided into their place by one of many tables.
The official part was opened by Mr. Ladislav Hunady, President of Slovak Union of Taekwon-Do ITF, who welcomed and introduced all the gathered guests, and raised a glass of champagne to the Slovak Union of Taekwon-Do ITF.
Afterwards Mr. Hunady presented shortly the history of Taekwon-Do ITF in Slovakia and handed in the special congratulations letters in bookbinder’s setting to the people important for the Slovak Union of Taekwon-do ITF. Also this part of the celebration was finished with a demonstration of the dance group Tilia Lipany.
The next point of the agenda was opened by Mrs. Lidia Babiakova, the representative of Ministry of Education of Slovakia.
Subsequently Master Tadeusz Loboda gave as speech. He reminded the most important organizational achievements of the SUT such as European Championships 2007 and 2011, Open European Cup 2010 as well as the International Taekwon-Do Tournament “Presov Open” held every year since 2003 (the 11th edition of the Presov Open took place in February this year).
Master Loboda handed over the congratulations letters, memorial tablets as well as the books “Quadrathlon Taekwon-do ITF” with a personal dedication to Mr. Ladislav Hunady, Mr. Jozef Kotulak – current SUT Secretary General, Mrs. Martina Lenhardtova – Former President and to Mrs. Daniela Palascakova - former Secretary General. At the end he presented to SUT a big portrait of Taekwon-Do founder - General Choi Hong Hi.
Next Master Jerzy Jedut reminded a history of cooperation between PTA, MKS Lewart AGS Lubartów and SUT, which goes back up to year 2000. It is worth mentioning that since the SUT was established, Master Jedut become its official examiner. Master Jedut handed over a publication issued on the occasion of the celebration of thirty years anniversary of Taekwon-Do in Lubartów, which is mostly the record of the MKS Lewart AGS Lubartów’ history, but also the photo book. Also this part of the event was finished with the dance shows. During the next point of agenda other guests representing different agencies handed over the congratulations letter with the wishes of prosperity and further development for Slovak Union of Taekwon-do ITF. At the end the current SUT Board has awarded with diplomas and thank you letters for the SUT the officers, coaches and outstanding competitors: Lenka Palascakova, Veronika Balazova, Tomas Gajdos, Robert Skop and Martin Magda.
The official part ended with a children’s Taekwon-do demonstration.
Afterwards Mr. Hunady invited everyone to the festive dinner by the music of a band under the leadership of Mr. Josef Smoter. The culmination of the dinner was the cake with SUT logo and an anniversary inscription. Master Loboda was asked to make the first cut.
Subsequently the unofficial part of the evening started with discussions and even dances. Some of the guests went for a walk through the old town of Presov to admire the architecture of the city.
All invited guest from out of the city were secured the accommodation in the Polo Hotel at the costs of the organizers.
All guests wished the Slovak Union of Taekwon-do ITF a 100 years of further development.
