As always, this year also prepared the IVth Eagles Cup International Taekwon-do Championships with enthusiasm and great dedication. Thanks to the huge amount of work we have made in the past four years, the brand 'Eagles Cup' is not only known in the surrounding countries but in other corners of Europe too. The week before the competition is always extremely busy: most importantly we have to know the number of competitors participating. This year it was a magic number: 299 competitors from 34 clubs of 9 countries!

Besides the best competitors of the Hungarian Taekwon-do teams, TKD practitioners from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden and Ukraine also took part in the event. As it was last year, we organized the IV. Eagles Cup so that we have all of the types of TKD competition events available. So there were three age groups competing in patterns, sparring, pre-arranged free sparring, special technique and power test categories in individual and in team versions.

The most important feature of this competition is still that we use the round robin system (everyone fights with everyone) dividing the categories into groups with 3-4-5 person per group. This system is quite time consuming of course, although it is much more fair unlike the traditional knockout system.

As we have improved the competition year-by-year, we have done it this year too: the next step for us was to implement the electronic scoring system of AETF. This system makes the scoring faster and clearly visible. The soring system was provided by the Bulgarian ITF Association, to whom hereby we would like to express our gratitude for this opportunity.

On Saturday all the children and junior categories competitions took place, while on Sunday there were mainly senior individual categories, team pattern, pre-arranged free sparring, team sparring, special technique and power test competitions.

Besides the individual medals and diplomas there were some special prizes for the best competitors and for the best teams also.
