From 1st to 10th August 2013 a summer Taekwon-Do camp was held in sporive base "Avangard" in the village Mykolaivka in Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine). This was the first stage of preparation for the ITF Taekwon-Do World Championship, which will take place in October in Benidorm, Spain.
48 athletes from: Kyiv, Crimea, Kharkov, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovograd, Lviv and Uzhgorod took part in the summer camp. In addition the camp was visited by the athletes from Russia and Ireland.
The work program consisted of three training sessions per day, which were were conducted by the head coach of national Ukrainian team, Honored coach of Ukraine Oleg Solovey (5th degree). Among the participants should be noted several well-known athletes: World Champion, 9-time European Champion, 2-time winner of the World and European Cup - Kateryna Solovey (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine), European Champion - Dmitry Bezverkhy (Kyiv,Ukraine), European Champion - Ivan Gryshchuk (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine), European Champion - Anatoly Korobko (Kirovograd, Ukraine), European Champion and silver medalist of the World Cup - Dzvenyslava Tokareva (Ivano-Frankivsk), silver medalist of the World Cup - Nikita Orlov (Kyiv, Ukraine), winner of the World Cup and European Champion - Roman Kudashov (Russia), winner of the World Cup - Rostylava Ivanchuk (Ireland).
The sports base "Avangard" where the summer camp was held is located on the Black Sea coast. In between the trainings the participants were able to spend time on the beach and take advantage of the beautiful Crimea region.
2014 Summer Camp will be held in August next year and we are planning to invite more foreign athletes and coaches.
