New Black Belts in Poland

Polish Taekwon-do Association June Black belt test took place on Saturday June 15th and Sunday 16th 2013 in Lublin. The panel of examiners was chaired by Grand Master Ung Kim Lan 9th Degree from Germany, who supported by Master Zbigniew Bujak – 7th Degree, Master Janusz Gutkowski – 7th Degree and Mr. Zbigniew Semp – 6th Degree.

All candidates were divided into three groups. The first one – 20 people for 1st degree started their grading on Saturday evening at 7 pm. The second group – 16 people also for 1st degree proceeded to the grading on Sunday Morning. The third group – for 2nd Degree and above began their attempt at noon.

In all three cases the exam was divided into two parts. The first technical part comprehended pattern, step sparring, self defense, foot techniques and sparring. The panel of examiners usually summarized the first part by announcing who is going to be allowed to take part in the second part. This time the candidates had to break board in special techniques and power tests. The exam finished with a theory part.

On the weekend 15th -16th June 52 candidates presented themselves for the grading. 32 were successfully promoted. 20 for 1st Degree, 5 for 2nd Degree, 4 for 3rd Degree, 2 for 4th Degree and one person for 5th Degree.

We would like to congratulate all those promoted and we wish perseverance to all those who did not succeed this time.

Seminar

The black belt test was as by custom preceded by a technical seminar. This time the seminar hosted by PTA from June 14th – 15th was attended by 30 students red and black belts holders from 14 schools.

The tutorial was conducted by Master Jerzy Jedut -7th degree, the PTA Vice-president responsible for technical and teaching area.

In the order of the seminar there were patterns, step sparring as well as fundamental movements and foot techniques included.

The seminar was an opportunity to talk about all questions or doubts that came up during the training sessions and for sure was a very good help and preparation for the black belt test.
