On June 15th, 2002 Gen. Choi Hong Hi – Father and Founder of Taekwon-Do and the International Taekwon-do Federation passed away.

Today, on the 11th anniversary of his death, we pay tribute to such a remarkable and extraordinary person who created a martial art which thousands of practitioners around the world are constantly passionate about. His activity has inspired many who are now following his path and are continuing his legacy.

Many of us were fortunate and privileged to have met him, have been instructed by him, trained under him, performed for him and have been graded by him.

Gen. Choi always recognized the dangers which brought with itself the contemporary civilization, but most of all he pointed out how the world should be. He always said that Taekwon-Do and its practitioners have a mission everywhere, in each country without any division into any differences. His example should be an inspiration for all of us in the drive to perfection and building of a peaceful world. It is our responsibility to keep his dream alive.

We are eternally grateful to him for giving us the possibility to change our lives by practicing Taekwon-Do.

On this special day, please spend a minute thinking of Gen. Choi Hong Hi and the amazing art he created.
