Newsletter 1/2013 Spanish Championships 2013
On January 26th ,2013 in the city of Santander was held the National Championships of Spain. This event was attended by 286 participants, who represented delegations from all over the Spanish geography. This group was formed by 200 competitors and 40 official referees and officers.
As usual, four areas of competition were settled and equipped with electronic controls, displays and computers to support the work of the arbitration team during the competition.
During the competition, the audience enjoyed the different types of ITF Taekwon-Do competition, individual and team pattern and sparring, traditional sparring, special techniques and power breaking. Competitors were divided by age and grade in Junior and Senior categories.
In the junior category the best female competitor became SARA EL MILOUDI ROSA from HWA-RANG-DO club and the best male competitor MIGUEL SERRANO CARCELEN from GYM TAE School.
In the senior competition title of the best female competitor went to MERCE ROSELL JIMENEZ and the title of the best male competitor to Adrian CORTES REVELLES, both from HWA-RANG-DO Club.
The school HWA-RANG-DO Cataluna achieved the title of the best club of the championships. Its competitors won 33 gold, 14 silver and 30 bronze medals with total of 157 points.
The best region became CATALUNA represented by the schools: HRD BONAVISTA, HWA-RANG-DO, JU CHE KWAN and EUI-AM JUNCADELLA.
The finalist of the black belts categories will partly form the National Team of the Spanish Federation of Taekwon-Do ITF during their participation in the European Taekwon-Do Championships to be held in Skovde, Sweden and the most important event this year – the World Taekwon-Do ITF Championship which will be organized by the Spanish Federation in the city of Benidorm in October this year.
