Master Van de Mortel seminar in Finland

On the 12-13.01.2013, the Black Eagle Taekwon-Do (BETKD) was honored to host a seminar with re-known Master and coach Willy Van De Mortel, 7th Dan from the Netherlands as part of BETKD's "Legends Seminar". Knowing the Master's heavy and busy schedule, we were lucky to have him with us again after 10 years.

Needless to present Master Van De Mortel's achievements: Coach of Mr. Tomaz Barada and Miss Julia Cross, both multiple European and World Champions. Current Coach of team NTN Norwayand much more.

The seminar started on Friday 11, when After just 1 hour from arrival, the Master was kind enough to conduct a lesson at our dojang that served as a preview of what the seminar would be during the weekend.

After a little dinner, the Master took a well deserved rest at his hotel.

Saturday:

The first seminar day kicked off with great warm up and direction kicking workout, as well as some great sparring strategy ideas. After the seminar, the Master was taken to dinner by Mr Viktor Rikkonen and Jens Spieker (whom I thank for taking care of our guest as I was ill in bed).

Sunday:

The second day was a follow up of the first day with more multi-directional sparring drill and movement. This was areal eye opener for many people who even though knew about the concept, were able to approach it in a very simple and approachable way. The only limitation for many were blisters due to the floor.

After that training, the Master was taken to sauna and experienced the traditional dip in the lake as Tomas Barada did last year.

I would like to thank Master Van De Mortel for visting us as well as all members who attended the seminar.

Next Legend's seminar will be conducted by Sabum Oleg and Miss Katya Solovey from Ukraine. So if you are interested in attending, do not hesitate to contact us at betkdseminars@gmail.com.
