ITA Annual Report of Activities 2012
The ITA Board of directors are proud to publish an annual report for 2012 to highlight what has been a very successful year for our organisation. Some of the highlights from the year include:
- An increase from 75 schools in January 2012 to 89 schools by the end of 2012.
- An increase in the number of senior grades to: three 7th Dan Masters, nine 6th Dans, fourteen 5th Dans, thirteen 4th Dans.
- 71 people promoted to various levels of black belt.
- 3 very successful national tournaments: Cork Open with 578 competitors, Dublin Open with 500 competitors and Irish Cup with 500 competitors.
- A very successful Euros campaign in Slovenia with 3 gold, 8 silver and 12 bronze medals.
- An historically large and successful IUC (International Umpire Course) with over 180 participants from 18 countries.
- ITA finishing 1st out of 163 clubs/associations at the ITF World Cup with 21 Gold, 17 Silver and 20 Bronze medals and best overall competitors awards for Chloe Aboud and Louise McCagh.
- Several meetings with ministers and government officials by our President Master Kenneth Wheatley, as we continue to raise the profile and image of ITF Taekwon-Do in Ireland.
- Several successful national technical seminars, camps, examiners conferences and instructor workshops.
