Purpose of the NICs is to educate the instructors & assistant-instructors of the federation, the people that teach on daily basis in the affiliated schools and in the national team; it's also a moment on which instructors can train and discuss together, ask questions, learn from each other on how to explain things to their students, etc.
The first NIC was organized October 13th, the plan is to have 4 NICs a year.
On the program this November 25th: first, from 10.00 on, there was a thorough explanation of the sine wave, the purpose, the relation with the secret training of Taekwon-Do and the study of power, how to perform it in a correct way, how to explain to the students. Afterwards there was warming-up and stretching, followed by the first tul session, Chon-ji up to Choong-moo.
From 12.00 to 12.30 there was lunch break, at 12.30 it was time for the 2nd tul session, Kwang-gae up to Choi-yong, followed by First Aid, what to do with common injuries in Taekwon-Do, how to react. Afterwards there was an explanation on the ITF Kids Development program, and some examples on games (it's always funny to see grown up people doing games), followed by Pre-arranged free sparring and Hosinsul.
The course ended with the third and last tul session, Yon-gae to Tong-il. This NIC finished around 17.00. It was a really enjoyable and educative day.
Many thanks to the instructors of this 2nd edition: Master Frank Vanberghen, Virginia Dionisi, Yves Pollefeyt, Patrick Crevecoeur, Bob Wigman, Hardy Viktor (president ITF-Luxembourg) and Tom Vanderhaeghen.
Next National Instructors Course will be held in Ottignies, March 24th 2013.
