Awards to Irish Sports Volunteers

On Wednesday November 20th 2012 the Federation of Irish Sport hosted their National Awards to Irish Sport Volunteers and Celebratory Lunch at the prestigious Aviva Stadium Lansdowne Road in our capitol city Dublin. Master Wheatley attended the awards in his capacity as Chair of the Irish Martial Arts Commission by invitation of the Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport, Minister Michael Ring T.D.

Among the ten deserving recipients was Mr Brendan Dowling, President of the Irish Martial Arts Commission, who was acknowledged for his many years of voluntary work in the governance and unification of the martial arts in Ireland. A founding member of the Commission, Mr Dowling has worked tirelessly to ensure the continued growth and professionalism as portrayed by the Commission to this day.

Our sincerest congratulations and gratitude go to Mr Dowling upon his award and for his continued work in raising the profile of martial arts here in Ireland.
