On June 9-th and 10-th, 2012 the First Balkan martial sports festival “Young friends of Police” was held in Mladost sports hall in city of Burgas, Bulgaria.
The Event, organized by Central Police Taekwon-do Club, Sports Association of Ministry of Interior and Municipality of Burgas, included competitions in Taekwon-do ITF, Taekwondo WTF and Kick boxing with 320 competitors. Official guests of the tournament were distinguished representatives of Burgas Municipality, highly ranked Ministry of Interior officers and greeting speech was given by the Deputy Minister of sports Mr. Ivan Tsenov and the Governor of Burgas Municipality Mr. Konstantin Grebenarov. The opening ceremony was specially prepared by the host – Burgas Municipality where was performed a dance of children cheerleaders team, also included demonstrations of Judo, Aikido, Karate and Taekwon-do ITF.
The competition of Taekwon-do ITF was organized and administrated by Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-do. The participants in the 2 days contest competed in all individual and team disciplines developed by ITF – pattern, sparring, prearranged sparring, special techniques and power test. The competition was supported by ITF competitors from Serbia who participated in this important event for ITF in Bulgaria and city of Burgas.
We strongly believe that this festival will become traditional event and we will do all our best to raise its prestige with every consecutive year.
The overall standing cups were personally given by the Chief of the "Public Relations, Protocol and Information Services" Department of the Ministry of Sports Mrs. Rumyana Nikolova.
