To the memory of GM Trân Triêu Quân

Today, on January 12th, 2012 two years are passing by from the Earthquake on Haiti, during which tragically died GM Trân Triêu Quân, the first ITF President elected fully democratically after gen. Choi Hong Hi, Taekwon-Do founder had passed away. GM Tran’s democratic election was exceptional in sport and martial arts.

This is so much relevant that GM Tran himself was a huge advocate of organization acting in a democratic way, who worked according to the rules of modern management. His vision of Taekwon-Do development was significantly ahead of his time.

He was a visionary who acted according to the rules and believed in them.

GM Tran skillfully combined the modern management with the philosophical attitude towards martial arts and life. The goals he determined and his vision of organization brought him many followers/supporters all over the world. His words were always followed by actions and he was capable of hearing people and learnt from them.

His way of managing ITF encouraged many associations to establish the cooperation with International Taekwon-Do Federation e.g: National Taekwon-Do Norway, All Russia Taekwon-Do Association and many others. GM Tran laid down new directions of actions and initiated changes, thanks to which our organization is currently achieving more and more success and is developing dynamically.

His beliefs in teamwork and overcoming the difficulties not as a single person but throughout a team became a basis for the actions of the current ITF Board Directors.

I am missing his smile, optimism, his President’s Messages, new, unconventional ideas and long discussions.

I am convinced that thanks to his passion and belief in Taekwon-Do he will stay in our memory forever.

On this particular day we unite our thoughts with the GM Trân Triêu Quân’s family.

I encourage all of you to read one of his messages:
How can we become TRUE martial artists in the 21st century.

Yours sincerely,
Tadeusz Loboda
AETF President
