Bulgaria Summer Camp 2011

From 22 of August till 1 of September 2011 in the International kids and youth camp “Chavdar” in Obzor city was held the traditional Summer Taekwon-Do ITF camp of the Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-Do /BAT/. The total number of the participants was 103 from the clubs members of BAT from the cities Sofia, Elin Pelin, Burgas, Varna, Stara Zagora and 7 taekwondists from Serbia.

The excellent conditions for trainings allowed the camp this year to have 5 different training programs.

  1. Program for the national team trained by the international instructor Julian Iliev, who prepared them for the upcoming European Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia;
  2. Preparation of the taekwondists from Serbia, who have the task to popularize Taekwon-Do ITF in Serbia;
  3. Program for education and development of the umpires of BAT, elaborated and executed by the Umpire Commission of BAT with Chairman Mr. Anton Ivanov.
  4. Basic training program in which took part 78 taekwondists – members of clubs of BAT. Training sessions were conducted by Mario Iliev – Main Instructor of the camp, Vencislav Ignatov, Orlin Hristov, Yordan Mihaylov and Anton Ivanov who included in the trainings all aspects of Taekwon-Do ITF;
  5. Sports games program, which included small tournaments of football, volleyball and table tennis organized by Nikola Iliev, who gave in the prizes to the final winners.

All participants, never mind the busy training program, performed very well. Guest instructors were Atanas Takev – many times national boxing champion, Pavel Filimonov – kick boxing and Muay Thai, Svetlin Simeonov – coach in Taekwon-Do Club Varna and Vanya Bojkova – several times Taekwon-Do champion.

The camp was very useful not only for the sports preparation, but for the fact that such events helps for the creation of complete personalities.
