More than 150 juniors aged 13 to 15 came together in Surnadal, Norway, 25th of June. This is the third time NTN Norway is arranging a special camp for this age.
Students from 13 to 15 often have difficulties with balance, technique and fast growing. Mentally they are not adults, but they are not kids either, and that’s the reasons we find it important to arrange a camp for kids this age, says one of the leaders of the camp, Kjell Gunnar Polden.
For one week the students trained concentrated and hard. They did their best under supervision of 8 instructors and Master Per Andresen. Most of the instructors are either competitors or instructors in the national team of NTN Norway.
The participants on the camp did much more than Taekwon –Do during this week. All of them had to join a dancing project where they worked together in groups, made their own choreographies and showed it to the others. The camp also focused on nutritious food and health. Sweets were not allowed until the last day of the camp, and on Wednesday all the students walked on a beautiful mountain top in Surnadal. The same evening 5 of the instructors made a rock band and gave a concert. The students were happily surprised over this stunt.
Friday 84 of the participants tried to graduate, and 83 of them passed the test.
Later this summer a camp for adults with more than 300 participants, and a camp for kids with about 250 participants will take place, both of them in Surnadal, Norway. NTN Norway also arranges camps for kids aged 8 to 14 in Stord and Langesund.
