Newsletter 2/2011 PTA Seminar and Black Belt Grading
On Friday, 17th June 2011 in Lublin, Poland started the seminar before black belt grading. Master Tadeusz Łoboda, 7th Degree conducted the first part classes How to teach special techniques using the balls. Master Łoboda showed that learning the special techniques may be enjoyable to practitioners.
The next day Mr. Jarosław Suska, 6th Degree gave the seminar. 54 participants from the whole country attended the course to deepen their knowledge and learn from the World Champion. The participants were divided into two groups according the level of advancement. First group was from 2 cup -1cup and the second 1st Degree – 5th Degree. The seminar was mainly focused on patterns and the technical elements required for applicants for the black belt degrees. Afterwards individual consultations took place. Many of candidates for the testing sized that chance for correction.

Due to the numerous candidates for higher degrees the grading started just after the seminar. On the late Saturday afternoon the following members of the commission panel GM Kim Ung Lan, 9th Degree, Master Zbigniew Bujak, 7th Degree, Master Janusz Gutkowski, 7th Degree and Mr. Zbigniew Semp, 6th Degree started the testing.
The exam was split in two parts. Firstly all the participants performed pattern, step and free sparing, self defence and some foot techniques. Then the examination committee chose people who in their opinion were good enough to do the special- and power breaking and theory.
On Sunday, 19th June was the continuation of the grading. In total there were 66 applicants out of which 44 were promoted.
