Because we had the honor to arrange the Taekwon-Do ITF European Championships in 2010 no Viking Cup was held that year.

It is with great pleasure I welcome everybody to the 11th edition of Viking Cup International, which will be held in Skövde, Sweden between the 16th and 17th of April 2011. As usual we will do every effort to make the competition at least as good as the previous years and I hope that we even can improve.

The first Viking Cup took place in the year 2000 and since then the competition has grown into being one of the most important ITF TKD activities in the calendar. Of great considerable value is that Viking Cup has become a meeting place for TKD-practitioners from all over the world and from all different advancement levels.

As usual the competition in sparring will be performed in the very popular pool system which means that everybody, independent of their result, is guaranteed always more than only one fight. There are separate groups for juniors and seniors in all divisions.

New during this Viking Cup will be an extra event which we call the Viking Free High Jump Kick. Exact rules for this event we will present soon. In short it will be a free flying kick competition according to similar rules as it's today in the athletics high jump event. In other words the winner will be the person who can kick highest of all with optional foot techniques.

The official invitation will be published in the beginning of February.
