The Moscow Challenge Cup is the biggest tournament that is organized in Russia. This year it was the 9th edition. I must say that the time is passing very quickly. Firstly, we intended to host the cup on 17th-18th December, 2010. That term was considered more suitable for everyone and we were sure that we would have more than 1000 competitors that time. But as You know, there was organized the 7th I.T.F. Tournament & Umpire Course in Villorba (Treviso) at the same time. Due to this we had to find different time. The only term that the sport hall was available was 27th November. We believe that it is more important to participate in the ITF Tournament & Umpire Course and have less competitors at our event than lose the course. We decided to host the 9th Moscow challenge cup on 27th November 2010.
The competition had 11 dojangs working simultaneously. Nine was for paterns and sparing, one for special techniques and one for power test. The power tests in Russia traditionally take place on the special power test electronic machine, because there are so many competitors and almost everyone wants to test his power without injuries which often occure if using boards. One of the inventions was the electronic system that we designed and produced in Russia as the electronic power test.
863 junior competitors came from different parts of Russia. The cup passed without a single protest. We believe that next, 10th edition, will atrack more than 1000 competitors.
We encourage you to see a demo video from the cup on the website of coorganizer and our friend the Russian sport Union of Youth http://www.rosmolsport.ru/.
Sincerely Yours
