A month to European Open Cup
Mr. Ladislav Hunady, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of European Open Cup 2010 and President of Slovak Union of Taekwon-Do
It is only one month left to the European Open Cup Slovakia 2010, how would you describe the level of preparation to this great event?
L.H: Preparation of the competition is going according to plan. Slowly, we are finishing things regarding accommodation, promotion, awards, sponsors, transport and finance.
How many members is the Organizing Committee consist of?
L.H: Currently, the Organizing Committee consist of four people, besides me, Mr. Jozef Kotulak, Secretary General of Slovak Union of Taekwon-Do, Mária Janigová, responsible for communication with the participants of this competition and the accommodation and application forms, Michal Holkovič- material equipment and transport for participants, later the Organizing Committee will be consist of more people.
What is the Organizing Committee working on right now?
L.H: We are currently working on accommodation for participants. We are assisting the countries who are applying for visas to Slovakia. We are sending the individual invitations, contacting with Slovak embassies in this countries. We are also providing the materials and equipment in the sport hall needed for the competition.
What is the most difficult for the Organizing Committee regarding the organization of such a big event?
L.H: Up today only 26 umpires enrolled to Open European Cup, what is definitely not sufficient number.
What attractions are for participants? What do they shall expect?
L.H: They can expect the great fighters. Many well-known and titled competitors have already applied. Attractive finals night with a performance of dance, jugglers, the Brazilian drums and a great party last night. Due to the fact that during Open European Cup 2010 will be held the ITF Congress, the elite of Taekwon-Do from each continent will honour with their presence this tournament.
What about latecomers? If they missed the deadline, will they have the chance to participate?
L.H: They have still chance to participate but there will be a high fines.
How would you evaluate the preparation of Slovak National Team?
L.H: Mrs. Martina Lenhardtova is in charge of the training. According to the current information the are focused on fitness and technical training. About 25 competitors from Slovakia will attend the European Open Cup.
