NewsletterThe former national coach of ITF New Zealand, Sabum Andrew Niven, 5th degree and current national coach of ITF Germany (together with the well-known coaches of Germany, Masters Lan, Vones and Trique) was invited to the Netherlands to gave seminars on Special Techniques and Power at Kisport Martial Academy club. Under the guidance of Mr. Niven many New Zealand and German top competitors have won several medals on European and World Championships and has a lot of knowledge he wants to share with other Taekwon-Doins all over the world.
At the clubs of Kisport Martial Academy, www.kisport.nl, member of ITF the Netherlands Mr. Niven gave two seminars on Saturday 4th September 2010 in Barneveld and on Sunday 5th September 2010 in Utrecht. Both seminars contained Special Technique and Power exercise to practice, conditioning, tips and mental aspects of these competition items. There was special attention for the competition team in preparation for the World Championships next year in New Zealand of Kisport Martial Academy.
After a special request, Sabum Patrick den Hoed and Sabum Ron van der Lee, both 4th degree, members of the national team and members of the Oh Do Kwan school www.ohdokwan.nl attended these classes to prepare for upcoming competition.
The feed-back of the participants were all very enthusiastic, Denise van Proosdij (Barneveld) “Ooh my god, it was super today”, Marjolijn Klarenbeek (Barneveld) “It was super interesting” and Ibtissam Kamri (Utrecht) “It was really a FUN class today”.
Besides the classes there was a special meeting between head coach of the competition team of Kisport, Boosabum Egbert Kok, 2nd degree and Boosabum Petra de Fauw (participant of the national team of ITF Netherlands) in preparation for the WC next year.
We like to thank Mr. Niven for sharing his time, wisdom, energy and knowledge about these items with our club. We like to see him again in the future.
