On Sunday, 28th February the 20th Belgian Championships for juniors (14-17) and seniors, coloured as well as black belts, were held in Steenokkerzeel.

More than 100 competitors participated at this 20th edition. Already 3 weeks ago the youth Belgian Championships (6-13) were organised, also with 100 members participating. There was competition in tul and teamtul, sparring, power breaking, special techniques and pre-arranged free sparring. Because of the 20th anniversary of ITF-Belgium some persons were awarded:

• Master Frank Vanberghen, pioneer of the federation in 1990
• Eddy Van Damme, as chairman of the umpire committee
• Raymond Fantacci, who obtained the 4th degree on the age of 60
• World Champion 2009 Virginia Dionisi
• European Champion 2009 Andreea Musca
• Bronze medal winner during the EC: Hans Rombaut
• Bronze medal winners WC: Bistra Dencheva and Hans Rombaut

Just after lunchbreak there was a short demonstration of World Champion Virginia Dionisi, demonstrating Moon-moo and Bistra Dencheva and Hans Rombaut, demonstrating pre-arranged free sparring (bronze at the World Championships). Afterwards the coaches and the belgian team 2010, for participation at the European Championships in Sweden, were presented. The PR-committee and the participating clubs had some nice presents for Master Vanberghen and Annick Van Driessche.
