New members of LTA

In February Latvian Taekwon-do (ITF) Association accepted two new sport clubs. There are sport club "ALEXCLUB" – headed by Alexander Stadnicenko and sport club "LEADER" – headed by Jurijs Petrovs. So in February there was already 11 clubs in LTA. Sport club “BORNEO” was presented by Oksana Mironceva (before Cjucjura) in September on LTA instructors and members collection. The LTA comrades unanimously accepted the new club in its collective. Now officially registered 12 Latvian clubs in LTA.

Sport club „Cin-Gu”championship

 

On 21st February amazing events for taekwon-do beginners took part in Latvian Sport Pedagogic Academy. Sergey Saulite organized 2 championships – „Cin-Gu”Club Championship and Beginners Cup 2009. 98 young talents from 11 Latvian clubs participated in the tournament .

6 medals from Byelorussia

 

On February 28th seven Latvian sportsmen from “TKD” sport club (coach Jurijs Jersovs) visited the capital of Byelorussia – Minsk and participated in the II International Tournament “The cup of Sparta”. 230 participants took part in this event, mostly from Ukraine, Belarus and Latvia.

“Best of The Best”

 

22 Latvian sportsmen won 36 medals on 6th April. International tournament “Best of The Best” in a small Czech town Říčany gathered competitors from Czech, Slovakia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Austria, Romania, Belarus and Latvia.

Studies for TKD instructors

Latvian Sport Pedagogics Academy in a cooperation with the Latvia Taekwon-do (ITF) Association on 13th and 14th June organized the second Taekwon-do theory seminar for instructors. The 23 Latvian members participated in the seminar. Lectures were conducted by L.Čupriks, M.Leščinskis and S.Saulīte.

This summer was organized 2 sport camps for Taekwon-Do students

From 3rd to 12th July 17 sportsmen participated in the sport and health camp organized by sport club "Čin Gu". From 24th July – 2nd August in Apgulde (Dobeles district) took place the annual summer rest and sport camp organized by “Hvaran” and “Mevi gym” sports clubs. These were 2 amazing events for kids, young people and also for instructors. Trainings, swimming, football matches, disco and many other activities were possible to join in. Also members of “TKD” sport club participated in international summer camp in Poland from 29th June – 8th July.

3rd European Cup

From Latvia to Lublin, a city situated in the eastern part of Poland went 14 people: Mr. Armand Saltenis, President of Latvian Taekwon-do (ITF) Association, Martins Lusis, Honorary member of LTA, Yuri Jeršovs, vice president of LTA, Denis Tokarev, president of "Victoria-T" Club, Maris Sudzans, president of Club "Sonkal" and athletes from four LTA clubs. Jekabpils "TKD" club was represented by Dmitry Kostromins (III place matsogi discipline), Arthur Lalovs (2nd place matsogi discipline) and Valerie Skurjate. Club "Victoria-T" was represented by the athletes Maxim Zarickis and Alexander Senkovs who won the I and II place. Club "Hvaran" was represented by Yevgeny Alekseyev, who won II place in the discipline matsogi and instructor Daria Strutinska from "Leader" sport club.

"Lynx 2009"

In a beautiful Latvian town Jekabpils was organized II Open Taekwon-do ITF tournament "Lynx 2009" organized by Jekabpils sport club "TKD" in November. 48 competitors from the 5 LTA clubs participated in this event.
